This cozy and satisfying turkey chili combines lean ground turkey, hearty white beans, and bold spices for a delicious meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 2 cans white beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1-2 fresh limes, juiced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sauté aromatics: In a large pot, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Brown the turkey: Add the ground turkey to the pot. Cook for 5-7 minutes, breaking it up as it cooks, until browned and cooked through.
  3. Combine ingredients: Stir in the diced tomatoes, chicken broth, white beans, lime juice, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Make sure everything is well-mixed.
  4. Simmer the chili: Bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and let cook for 20-30 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking, and adjust seasoning to taste.
  5. Finish and serve: Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro if desired.

Notes

Don’t skip the lime juice for a fresh zing! Rinse your beans to reduce sodium.
