A simple and flavorful crockpot recipe featuring tender chicken smothered in Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce, perfect for busy days.

Ingredients

  • 4-6 boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 bottle Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup vinegar (apple cider or white vinegar)
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust for spice preference)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Mix the sauce: In a bowl, combine the Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce, vinegar, red pepper flakes, brown sugar, and garlic powder. Stir until well blended.
  2. Prepare the chicken: Arrange the chicken breasts in the crockpot, ensuring an even coating of sauce.
  3. Coat with sauce: Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated.
  4. Cook low and slow: Cover the crockpot and set it to cook on low for 240 to 360 minutes. Fresh chicken will take about 240 minutes, while frozen chicken may need up to 360 minutes.
  5. Check for doneness: Once the chicken is cooked through and tender, it should shred easily. Use two forks to shred or serve whole.

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the chicken in the crockpot for even cooking. Adjust seasoning based on your spice preference.
