Deliciously fudgy brownies topped with a creamy spider web design, perfect for Halloween celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for topping)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (for spider body)
  • Optional: gummy spiders for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla until combined.
  3. Mix the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the wet ingredients.
  4. Pour the brownie batter into the pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  5. Prepare the spider web topping by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Create the spider web by piping circles on top of the cooled brownies and dragging lines outward with a toothpick.
  7. Add melted chocolate chips for spider shapes and optional gummy spiders for decoration.

Notes

Avoid overmixing the batter and cool brownies completely before frosting for best results.
