Ingredients
2 cups ground chicken
1 cup napa cabbage, finely chopped
2 green onions, finely sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, grated
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 package dumpling wrappers
Oil for frying
Water for steaming
Soy sauce (for dipping)
Vinegar (for dipping)
Chili oil (for dipping)
Instructions
Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, napa cabbage, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
Fill the Dumpling Wrappers: Take a dumpling wrapper and place a small spoonful of the filling in the center. Be careful not to overfill; about 1 tablespoon is ideal.
Seal the Dumplings: Wet the edges of the wrapper with a little water. Fold the wrapper in half over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges tightly to seal.
Cook the Potstickers: Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of oil. Once hot, place the potstickers in the skillet in a single layer. Cook until the bottom is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
Steam the Dumplings: Pour in a small amount of water (just enough to cover the bottom of the skillet), then immediately cover with a lid. Let them steam for about 5-7 minutes or until the water has evaporated.
Finish Cooking: Remove the lid and let the potstickers cook for another minute to ensure the bottoms are crispy again.
Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce on the side.
Notes
Don’t overfill to prevent leaking during cooking. Use enough water for steaming and watch cooking times closely.
